The Springhouse Social Club Bye-Laws

LICENSED BAR AREAS

  1. Bar opening times will be published on the Notice Board.

  2. All drinks to be finished, and the premises vacated, no later than 20 minutes after the bar has closed.

  3. Intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to any person under 18 years of age.

  4. Proof of age may be requested at any time by the Manager, Springhouse Staff or the House Committee.

SMOKING POLICY

  1. A ‘no smoking’ policy exists on all Club Buildings and Facility Buildings. Smokers must use the facility provided for smokers in the grounds as indicated. This also includes vapour usage.

CONSUMPTION OF FOOD AND DRINK

  1. Only food and drink purchased from the Club may be consumed on the Club Premises and Grounds unless prior permission is granted from the Club Management.

MEMBERSHIP CARDS

  1. Membership cards must be produced on request of the Club Staff, Directors, or anyone authorised by them. Failure to do so will make the member liable to be refused entry to the Club.

  2. A charge will be made for each duplicate card issued.

CHILDREN

  1. Children under the age of 10 years are not permitted in the Members Bar or Main Hall Bar area. Parents and Guardians (over 18) must keep their children under strict control and will be responsible for their behaviour and safety whilst on Club premises.

  2. Children must be accompanied by Parents / Guardians (over 18) at all times with the exception of Junior Associate Members.

  3. Only children under the age of 14 years may use the Activity Centre in the Garden facility.

  4. Only Staff may enter the Garden barbecue area at any time.

CLUB PREMISES

  1. The Company shall be empowered to close all or parts of the Club premises as circumstances warrant.

VISITORS

  1. All members may sign in 3 guests excepting Junior Associate Members.

  2. Junior Associate Members may not sign in guests.

  3. All persons over the age of 16 must be signed in by a current member and the appropriate fee paid.

  4. After payment of the appropriate current fee, a non member / visitor may not remain in the Club after the departure of the Host member. Whilst in the Bar areas visitors must remain in the company of the member. The member signing in a visitor must take full responsibility and will be accountable should any problems arise with the visitor.

  5. No visitor will be signed in by a member after 10pm, any night. Unless agreed by the Directors.

DOGS

  1. Dogs are not allowed within the Club Buildings, Garden or Sports Ground. (other than Guide Dogs).

GAMING MACHINES

  1. Persons under 18 years of age must not play the Gaming Machines.

LOTTERY KING & LOTTO MACHINE

  1. Persons under 16 years of age must not play the Lottery King or Lotto Machines.

VEHICLES

  1. Vehicles are parked strictly at the owners risk and must not be parked on the forecourt yellow lines

  2. Vehicles must not exceed the speed limit of 5 mph in the Car Park.

  3. Drivers of vehicles must observe the one way system.

POOL & SNOOKER

The last issue of Snooker Balls or Cues for either snooker or pool will be when the Main Bar closes (see notice board for times). A deposit of £5.00 will be taken when snooker balls are taken out.

LOST PROPERTY

  1. Property left on the Club premises is left strictly at the owners risk.

  2. Lost property found on the Club premises will be deposited with the Doorman and if not claimed within 1 month will be disposed of.

PRAMS / PUSHCHAIRS / SPORTS BAGS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT

  1. All prams, pushchairs, sports bags and equipment within the Club House must be deposited in the Cloak Room.

KEYS

  1. Keys will only be issued on production and surrender of a current membership card or permit of a bona fide member.

SNOOKER ROOM

  1. Children under 12 years of age are not permitted at any time.

  2. Children aged 12 and over may use the Snooker Tables, but must be accompanied by an adult member over the age of 25 at all times.

  3. Junior Members may use the facilities unaccompanied.

  4. No food is allowed in the Snooker Room.

  5. Only Members may book tables (one frame or half hour if anyone is waiting).

SECTIONS

  1. A Member, together with 11 other members, may make application to the Club Management to form a section of the Springhouse. All members of the section when approval is granted must be members of the Springhouse.

CLUB FACILITY HIRE

  1. A deposit of full hire charge is required on confirmation of booking.

  2. On cancellation deposits are not refundable.

  3. A Club Section will cover expenses incurred if the Section function is cancelled.

CLUB OPENING TIMES

Club opening times will be posted on the Notice Board.

DARTS

  1. Children under the age of 16 years may only play darts with an adult member (over 18) of the Club.

CLUB REPRESENTATION

  1. No team or individuals, apart from those officially recognised by the Club, may purport to represent the Springhouse without first receiving written permission from the Directors.

DRESS

  1. Persons using the Club shall not dress in a manner likely to cause offence or embarrassment to others.

  2. Persons wearing dirty work clothing  and / or shoes may be refused entrance to the Club.

  3. Gentlemen will be required to wear a top inside the building.

CLEAN CLUBHOUSE POLICY

  1. Members and their guests will obey the following policy at all times.

  2. Furniture will not be used as footstools.

  3. Litter will not be dropped on the floor.

iii.  Language will be moderate at all times.

BAR STOOLS

  1. No member or guests shall use bar stools at the Main Bar, unless with the express approval of the Club Management.

GARDEN

  1. No Ball Games or any other activities considered by the Club Management to be injurious or annoying to other Club Members or their guests may be undertaken or played in the Garden area.

THE CLUB MANAGEMENT

  1. The Club Management may vary any of these bylaws at their discretion.
